It is only appropriate that I blog today for two reasons. Wait no three reasons.
1. ZOOEY DESCHANEL ANNOUNCED TO THE WORLD THAT SHE IS EXPECTING HER FIRST CHILD WITH HER BEAU!
2. I GOT MY NAILS DONE IN HONOR OF THAT BECAUSE ZOOEY HATES PLAIN NAILS, I WOULD KNOW. WE CHAT.
3. NEW GIRL COMES ON TONIGHT ON FOX!
So let’s take it back to number one. Today I woke up like I normally do, laid in bed for about 30 minutes to an hour and checked ALL my 600 notifications because I am so popular. Just kidding, I had a few messages from my BFF’s and that’s about it. Either way I continued my morning with my daily internet pondering and then POW, I saw the greatest news ever. “Zooey Deschanel is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jacob Pechenik, rep confirms to E! News”. After I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how they are going to write this into the show, I wanted to text her and congratulate her of course! Turns out, I lost her number in my old phone (silly me) so I just had to tweet it to her.She will forgive me.
Then, I told my boyfriend. It was pretty funny how I started the conversation. I started it as if I was talking about someone we actually know. “OMG babe, guess who is pregnant”, him thinking it was someone we knew responded typically with, “who…” and then I respond excitedly with,“ZOOEY!” He then shakes his head and walks away.
This particular moment reminded me of an article I read not too long ago on Hellogiggles.com. The article talked about how crazy it is that we feel so close to people that we have never met. This was in response to all the excitement everyone felt when Blake Lively delivered her baby. She was saying how we feel like we have grown with these particular people regardless of ever meeting them and how the excitement that we feel for them, well is pretty normal. Except I wasn’t that excited about Blake, I was always team Blaire. Always. Either way, we watch these people grow as we grow. We see them go through public break-ups and watch their different roles from movies to shows evolve like crazy. And when they win that Golden Globe that they should have won a long time ago, you better believe we are standing up clapping as if we were dressed in Oscar de la Renta (may he Rest in Peace), sitting at the next table over.
Then, it is back to our every day lives and they will never actually know how excited we were that they took home that shiny award or how sad we were when they got that one divorce after 6 short months. You know, the one we all saw coming.
Anyway, today we celebrate Zooey! Congratulations to one of the funniest girls on Television. Your baby is going to be so cute and my nails are really thanking you right now.
EVERYONE WATCH NEW GIRL.
